Introducing the Kantine Series: Durable Stoneware Echoing the School Canteen

Kantine is stackable dinnerware crafted from durable stoneware in Portugal. It echoes the school canteen and your favorite highway service station. The Kantine cup is available in four glossy glazes: Black, White, Beige, and Red X Freja Wewer. It is microwave and dishwasher safe.

Debuting the Kantine series by NIKO JUNE during 3 Days of Design, in collaboration with creative director and photographer Freja Wewer.

Supporting the digital release of the series, Freja Wewer has led a captivating campaign for our Kantine Cups, overseeing both photography and creative direction. She envisioned the series photographed in various office-like locations around Copenhagen, including Gallery V1, the home of artist Amanda Lydert, and the home of stylist Maya Soul Paustian, among others.

3 DAYS OF DESIGN

We put the dinnerware series to the test with a time-honored “Toast and Jam” breakfast, celebrating the release alongside a special edition colorway by Freja Wewer. The breakfast table was adorned with the tableware “Steel Line” and other NIKO JUNE pieces, curated to highlight the striking Red x Freja Wewer Kantine cup. The table was intentionally left messy after the breakfast, serving as an installation throughout the festival, capturing the remnants of a meal with coffee drips, jam stains on the tablecloth, and half-eaten toasts.
